Dating back to 1380, Crogen is a Grade II* listed building. The front of the house displays gothic architecture with many original features. The rest of the house dates to 1837.

The gilt-work to the ceiling in the dining room, large stone fireplace and mahogany floor have remained unchanged. With 12 bedrooms, drawing room, dining room, numerous sitting rooms, original kitchen (with larders and pantry), cellars and magnificent grounds, Crogen is a classic country house with endless filming and photo shoot opportunities. Also on the estate are a number of properties and barns with unique architecture and features.

Running through the grounds is the River Dee, where Gone Fishing was filmed in 2022 https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001c2q6;  also heather moorland, lake, forestry, ancient woodland, pasture and parkland. Views extend towards the magnificent Berwyn Mountain range to the South, and Arenig and Aran to the West.
